Headlight RestorationCan't see when you drive at night?
Cloudy, Hazy, Yellowed Headlight Lens On A Nice Car?
Plastic headlight restoration is the act of refinishing aged headlights that have succumbed to headlamp oxidation and other environmental hazards of travel, weather, and exposure to caustic chemicals. This condition which results in cloudy lenses is known for causing reduced night time visibility for travellers as the condition becomes worse.
Most often the solution is to resurface the lens by lightly sanding the affected surface with different grades or grits of finishing paper until the oxidation is removed and then applying a protective finishing coat to re-seal the surface of the restored headlight.
Over the past several years, more and more automotive parts are being manufactured out of plastics, high impact Acrylic or polycarbonate materials. Headlights are no exception and being made from plastics, acrylics or polycarbonate material means they won't last forevel like glass will.
Oxidation causes lens discoloration and a dull white or yellow tint that appears to be foggy, hazy, or cloudy. Oxidation can be unsafe because it degrades visibility during night driving.
